It is an important step, an act of self-leadership and self-respect.I’m Barbara Deck, a certified trauma-informed coach, founder of Elin Coaching, and currently completing my Health & Well-Being Coach Training at Duke School of Integrative Medicine. I offer my clients a supportive and collaborative partnership to help them identify realistic strategies to reach their health and wellness goals.

According to the International Coaching Federation (ICF), coaching is a collaborative partnership that engages clients in a thought-provoking and creative process designed to help them maximize their personal and professional potential.Coaching is confidential and future-oriented.
Rather than concentrating on problems to be solved, it focuses on strengths to be developed and goals to be achieved.
It is equally important to clarify what coaching is not.
Coaching is not therapy, consulting, mentoring, or training. It does not involve diagnosing mental health conditions, treating past trauma, or providing expert advice.

My path into coaching is rooted in personal experience
and a deep belief in the mind–body connection

After back surgery, rehabilitation sparked my interest in how the body heals. I became a certified personal trainer, and expanded my focus to behavior change, mindset, pilates, and Narrative Therapy. A later accident reinforced my conviction that healing requires both physical recovery and psychological resilience.Today, I bring this integrated approach into my work as a trauma-informed coach, while completing my Health & Well-Being Coach Training at Duke University.
